12 May 2008 - Attic Lights Single Release
!!GOD ARRIVES ON MONDAY!!

Don't forget that The Attic Lights single is released on Monday.

Or you can download it now on itunes if you are really impatient like us! The single which is released on Island Indie Label 'Fallout' will be in the stores on bank holiday monday.

The Band can be heard being interviewed on the Dermot O'Leary show on Radio 2 between 2 and 5 O'clock on Saturday 3rd May, so make sure you tune in and listen. You can see where the band are doing instore performances all over scotland to promote the single by looking at their information page here.

24 April 2008 - Attic Lights heard across the UK (part two)

Terry Wogan and Mark Radcliffe have also been heard playing the new single 'GOD'. The band were voted Record of the week on Radcliffe's show, so many thanks to all thyose who voted!

11 April 2008 - Attic Lights heard across the UK (part one)

The Attic Lights recieved their first radio 2 play this week from DJ Dermot O'Leary who played the bands follow up single 'GOD'

The band played a session on the Janice Long show on 2nd April. The promotion of the single 'GOD' which marks the bands first major single release will be nationwide from April 28th. You can see the band by visiting their website.

03 February 2008 - URBNRI enter the UK charts

Congratulations to X-Phonics published band Urbnri, who entered the charts at no.34 today (03.02.08). The band who's debut single 'Young Free and Simple' was released last monday has gained the band a strong following over the last few weeks due to relentless promotional work by all involved. The band who released their single on their own Fortress Records Label have been busy supporting Ocean Colour Scene across Scotland. Look out for more news on Urbnri over the next few weeks.

28 January 2008 - URBNRI on XFM Scotland

X-Phonic Published band, Urbnri are taking over the airwaves at the moment with a playlisting spot on X-FM in Scotland. The band who are about to launch their debut single on Monday with the physical release of 'Young, Free and Simple' which is out on Monday 28th January on Fortress Records.

30 December 2007 - The Zimmers spend New Years Eve on TV

Today (31.12.07) sees The Zimmers perform live on BBC ONE's Big Finish hosted by Graham Norton. The band were part of the musical section of the competition where guest panelists such as Barbara Windsor, Denise Van Outen and Kate Garraway looked back at the highlights of 2007. 24 December 2007 - Keith Jacks on TV

Glasgow born and 'Joseph' runner up Keith Jacks will be appearing on TV tonight on BBC ONE's 'When Joseph Met Maria'.

The show is a Christmas entertainment extravaganza as the best-loved Marias and Josephs from the hit series How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria and Any Dream Will Do perform alongside one another for the first time ever.

Highlights from the glittering evening include Denise Van Outen performing a group number with the Josephs, while John Barrowman will appear with the returning Marias. In a very special treat for Christmas, the winners of the two series - Connie Fisher and Lee Mead - both still starring in West End hits - perform a duet together. Plus Andrew Lloyd Webber shares his favourite moments from both series, and may even join in the festivities!

28 November 2007 - Win a Deal Winners announced

X-Phonics are delighted to announce THE FIRE AND I won last weeks Win a Deal Final. Close Runners Up were SATELLITE TEARS who really impressed the judges on the night.

As Winners 'The Fire and I' are enjoying a Hometown support slot with Glasgow born Amy MacDonald."They've got massive energy and look fantastic. What a huge sound for just two guys! I kept looking around to see where the rest of the band was. The Fire and I were my pick of the night - they were fantastic." X-Phonics MD John McLaughlin said.

5 October 2007 - The Zimmers attend world wide ageing convention in Washington DC

Youtube and Zimmer supremo Peter Oakley (known worldwide as Geriatric 1927) and X-Phonics' own Neil Reed have just returned from the Washington DC, as guests of the AARP (american association of retired persons) who brought the pair along to discuss the worldwide success that is the zimmers. Neil also spoke prior to a showing of the zimmers TV broadcast to an audience of United Nations Delegates, aging experts and members of the US Senate. Neil and Peter also spoke to 7 radio shows and an audience of over 7 million americans during their 3 day stay in Washington.

 

 

 

28 September 2007 - Official Rugby World Cup Video

X-Phonics Productions is delighted to have played it's part in this years Rugby World Cup anthem. The video which was directed by X-Phonics own Dave Palmer was shot over two days at London's Air and Rak studios. The footage was handed to ITV who put the video together. Artists such as Katherine Jenkins, Hayley Westernra, Jonathon Anstell, Lesley Garrett, Blake and Russell Watson all appear on the track.

23 September 2007 - X-Phonics Partner Up with The Scottish Sun

ANNOUNCING THE BEST MUSIC TALENT HUNT EVER

Thanks to a new joint venture between the Scottish Sun and X-Phonics PLC, one undiscovered band or solo artist will be going into the studio to record their first CD.

The competition, which was unveiled today will bring together some of the industries biggest talent. John McLaughlin and Neil Reed of X-Phonics head up the judging panel which also consists of Ian Brown (Sandi Thom), Ian McCulloch (Echo and The Bunnymen), Francis McDonald (Teenage Fanclub), Martyn Berg (Universal Records) as well as many others.

Entry to the competition is free and open to any unsigned band or solo artist. And each band must market themselves via internet sites such as bebo and myspace. Upon registering for the competition, each band will be given a unique text voting number with which fans, family and friends can vote. The top bands will be updated on a regular basis in ‘the chart’

John McLaughlin who is heading up the competition said “This is a great opportunity that artists wouldn’t normally have to attract attention”

The final 40 acts will be chosen on September 20th and will then enter stage two of the competition which includes their chance to perform live in front of members of the judging panel. With the grand final taking place on November 8th when the top three artists will slug it out to be crowned champions.

17 August 2007 - Alf Carretta sets light to new Zimmers single

The Zimmers lead singer Alf Carretta was spotted in X-Phonics House this week putting the finishing touches on the new Zimmers single. The song is a cover version of The Prodigy's hit 'Firestarter' and is produced by production team of Paddy Dalton and 19 Music's very own 'Duck'. Paddy who works out of X-Phonics House is delighted by the results so far and will soon be put to work on the B-side to firestarter.

The single is planned for release during the christmas period. with news of the release already giving bookmakers William Hill something to think about. We hope like the new look for X-Phonics Music Website. The site has been designed inhouse and is set up to allow easy access to the information you require about the company. Director Mike Hosie commented, "This is the first time we've had a site with the facility to be maintained by ourselves. Information can go up within minutes rather than days, with more content and faster news delivery, we are sure that shareholders and the public alike will benefit from the new look x-phonics"

1 August 2007 - Maeve O'Boyle album takes shape

Maeve O'Boyle is causing quite a stir in Scotland at the moment. The artist who has just completed a number of gigs around Scotland is busy putting the finishing touches on some new material and is starting to court major label interest. Maeve is delighted that John McCusker, one scotlands foremost tradional musician joined maeve on a number of tracks.

John McCusker

John is mainly known for his consummate fiddle playing but is also a virtuoso on a range of instruments including whistles, piano & cittern. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to Scottish Music he was presented with the Spirit of Scotland Award for Music in 2000, and he can now add the title of film score composer and arranger to his list of credits since working on the Miramax movie Heartlands.

Maeve is currently working with Gordon Goudie on new material which we look forward to bringing you shortly.

 

 

19 July 2007 - GCAP Radio Mercury 102.7 fm in Surrey, Sussex and Kent

Neil Reed will be live on Radio Mercury tommorrow morning at 8:40 p.m. Fans of the Internet can log into the Radio Mercury website to listen live as Neil Reed and DJ Paul Bunker discuss the music industry and choose a winner for GCAP South East's new Jingle writer in the final of the 'Jingle Idol' competition.

16 July 2007 - The Zimmers Documentary airs on BBC2

Last Night saw 3.5 million viewers watch the second documentary following the bands exploits through the music industry. X-Phonics' own Neil Reed, who appeared in the shows is delighted by the response.

12 July 2007 - The Zimmers Documentary PR Release

The Zimmers 'My Generation'X-Phonics is pleased to announce it's involvment in the worldwide success of The Zimmers. The band who were formed as part of a BBC 2 Documentary have received worldwide critical acclaim following two weeks in the UK Top 40. The single, a cover version of The Who's 1964 classic "My Generation' is now scheduled for release in the USA and the rest of the world on the 19th June.

The Band, which is made up of 40 pensioners were part of a flurry of worldwide press interest during the release period having been seen by an estimated 100 million people in 50 countries and the video to support the song watched by over 3.4 million people on tastemaker website Youtube. The pinnacle of the 'My Generation' release was the invitation to travel to Los Angeles to join Jay Leno and George Clooney on The Tonight Show. A second single and album are currently being scheduled for Q4 release.

1 July 2007 - The Zimmers Documentary Part 2 'The Zimmers in LA'

BBC 2 have today confirmed the date for the inital broadcasting of 'The Zimmers in LA' as Sunday 15th July at 10:00. The documentary follows the bands exploits and highlights the abilities of X-Phonics to market a band.

10 June 2007 - 2nd week in the UK TOP 40 for The Zimmers

The band are currently celebrating a second week in the UK charts at no.32

5 June 2007 - The Zimmers appear on The Tonight Show

Alf Carretta, Norma Brown and Winnifred Warburton of The Zimmers are featured on this evenings American Broadcast of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The band were watched by 11.7 million americans. The show can be seen in the UK on 15th June on Sky Channel 510.

3 June 2007 - The Zimmers enter the UK TOP 40

We are delighted to announce that The Zimmers and their song 'My Generation' has entered the Charts at no.26. The Band are celebrating by watching three of their members leave from Heathrow airport to conquer the USA.

20 May 2007 - New promo's completed for the MS Society

X-Phonics have recently completed two high profile campaign awareness videos on behalf of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The original videos done on behalf of the society proved great fundraising tools and have increased the awareness of Multiple Sclorosis. X-Phonics are now in discussions with the Cheif Executive of the UK MS Society to look at a larger national campaign promo.

12 April 2007 - X-Phonics partner with the BBC

X-Phonics are pleased to announce it is working with the BBC to release a CD single for the BBC2 produced show 'The Great Granny Chart Invasion'. The show which airs on 28th May shows the plight of the elderly in the UK and concludes with the recording of The Who's classic song 'My Generation'

16 February 2007 - Top Spot for Reborn

The X-Phonics music published track ‘Don't Ever Go’ (performed by Belgian artist REBORN) recently reached Number 5 and the album has just entered at Number 10. The track, which is the title song for the tv series ‘ASPE’ has also been included in it's first Japanese compilation, being released through Universal in March 2007. The album ‘Fools Rush In’ contains two x-phonics music published tracks with writing and production team DWB.

Another DWB track, ‘Taking You Out’, has been included on the recently released album by ‘Shebang’, on Avex in Japan. The album also has a release next week in Sweden.

6 February 2007 - X-Phonics sign Maeve O'Boyle

X-phonics are pleased to confirm the signing of singer-songwriter Maeve O’Boyle. Her debut album is nearly complete under the watchful eye of producers Calum Malcolm and Gordon Goudie. Described as a "natural lyricist" with an "exceptional" voice, it is clear that Glasgow born Maeve has already turned a few heads in her short career to date. Her unique and powerful voice, fused with her own distinctive blend of melodic pop , folk and rock have earned her a reputation as one to watch over the next year. This year has already witnessed Maeve, return as a ‘Danny’ award winner at Celtic Connections and an opportunity to showcase for the leading men and women of todays music industry, after being named winner of the Artist's category in The Daily Records National talent search.
